Cwmbran is set to get a Hollywood-style sign on the hill overlooking the town. Giant white letters will be built on
Torfaen Council’s planning committee approved the £10,000 plan, which was submitted by a group of business owners from the town.
The group of entrepreneurs want to attract attention to the excellent quality of life, transport links and value-for-money business units available in the town.
If more cash can be found they hope to fund lights so the 45ft high letters can be seen at night.
The application said that the landmark will be visible from the M4. Around 75,000 drivers a day will see the Cwmbran sign on their journey through the Newport stretch.
