Owen Filer entertained his family and friends at his 100th birthday party in the Olive Tree club in Cwmbran.

He wasn’t going to sit back and take it easy after reaching this landmark birthday. Watch him in this video hitting the dancefloor and enjoying songs including Rock Around The Clock and Wake Up Little Susie.

The video then shows him inviting his guests to tuck into his birthday cake before he raises his walking stick in the air and joins in a chorus of Happy Birthday.

He was born in Pontnewydd and has lived Cwmbran all his life. His birthday cake was a steam engine following his career on the railways before and after World War II.

He has four children, nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
