Cwmbran’s Owen Filer turned 100 last October and has been winning hearts across the world.
Last October at his birthday party a video of him doing his moves on the dancefloor with his walking stick above his head went viral. Then in January he was out shopping in Newport and stopped by an ITV Wales journalist. The clip of his reaction finding out that Owen was 100 was shared across the world and even made an appearance on LADbible.
In May he was interviewed by ITV about his experiences of living during the coronavirus pandemic.
This latest video filmed a few days ago is another cracker. He was out for his daily walk and stopped off at his granddaughter’s house in Pontnewyddd. A washing line pole was proving difficult to move because it was stuck in a large lump of concrete.
Our town’s famous centenarian got to work by smashing the lump with a sledgehammer. He did this in his usual outift of a smart shirt and tie.
"Ask my mother, she was there at the time!"
As @robosborneitv was filming in Newport today, he met army veteran Owen – and was astonished to hear how old he said he was! 😱 pic.twitter.com/V8ZURw7Guj
