Police have appealed for help after a man in his 60s was robbed in the town.
He was walking in Oakfield when approached by two individuals. A GoFundMe page has been launched to replace the victim’s stolen phone.
A Gwent Police spokesperson said: “We received a report of a robbery in Oakfield Road, Cwmbran at around 1.05pm on Monday 5 April.
“A man in his sixties was walking along the road at around 8.55pm on Sunday 4 April when he was reportedly approached by two individuals, believed to be two men.
“One of the individuals pushed the victim to the ground, while the other grabbed the victim’s mobile phone – a pale blue Samsung Galaxy A71 in a black leather case – which was being used as torch at the time.
“The two individuals then ran off in the direction of the playing fields, while the victim sustained a minor injury to his left arm.
“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information that could assist our investigation, or has CCTV or dashcam footage, is asked to call Gwent Police on 101, quoting log reference 2100117567.
