Year six pupils at Croesyceiliog Primary School have carried out a project to thank people in their community.
Hannah Brown, a teacher at the school, said: “They have shared their thanks and support for the heroes of our community who have supported us through these challenging times. The children have created inspirational keyrings, exercise drills, clay models, and clay hanging ornaments that will be shared to members of our community to thank them for their work and, hopefully, support them as they have done for us.
“I am incredibly proud of the work that they have produced along with the maturity and empathy that they have shown and think that it would be a great touch if this could be shown in Cwmbran Life, not just to acknowledge the work that the children have done, but also to spread their message to the people across Cwmbran.”
The pupils created this video ‘thank you’ poem
Ms Brown added: “The children designed and planned their own way of supporting those at home or saying thank-you to different people that have been superheroes throughout the pandemic.
“The boys who are playing rugby and football completed drills for people to complete at home to improve well-being and give people something new to do. The others made a variety of items from ornaments and pictures for families, inspirational keyrings which were handed out to key workers, clay rainbows and ornaments and tree hangings for NHS/ key workers.”
