Five older people laughing

Cwmbran’s Good Neighbours Club meet every Wednesday from 1.15pm to 3.15pm and new members are always welcome to join.

Members told me the group has been running for around 30 years but no-one knew the exact date when it started. It’s fair to say the group has been bringing smiles to older people in the town for a long time.

A typical session could include a bring and buy sale- members bring items from the house to be quickly auctioned off with the money going into the club kitty. This may be followed by bingo, a tea break and planning for future trips. In the past they have been on breaks including Tenby, Torquay and Bournemouth.

Carol Tyler, chair, said: “It’s a chance to have a good yap.” Scroll down and watch a video of Carol chatting about the club.

Each session is £2.50 but your first visit is free.
