Coronation event in Pontnewydd Park on Sunday

Everyone is invited to a community coronation event in Pontnewydd Park on Sunday 7 May.

Volunteers from the Friends of Pontnewydd Park have organised a free afternoon of fun for all the family from 1.30pm to 5.30pm. Free activities include community bingo, music, games and snacks for children.

You can buy raffle tickets with prizes from local businesses. The bowls club will be selling tea, coffee and other refreshments. There will be a free bowls taster session weather permitting. Dogs are welcome but please keep them on leads.

Organisers said: “There will be no food and drink provided so make sure to bring some picnic snacks. Bring your picnic and blankets and the whole family! we would love to see you.”

Organisers thanked local businesses for their support. These included Maz’s Heirloom, Silcox Stores, Balti King, Bibby and Blake, Classic Cutz, Pontnewydd Fish Bar and Serenity Beauty.

Where is Pontnewydd Park?

It’s off Mount Pleasant Road in Pontnewdd. You can also enter it over a bridge on the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal.
