Former rugby stars will be getting their golf clubs out to raise money for eight charities. The Welsh Charitables RFC and the Mayor of Torfaen are appealing for teams to take part in the event at Greenmeadow Golf Club on Friday 18 May.
Tom David, former Pontypridd, Barbarian, Wales & British Lions flanker, is playing and also the guest speaker for the presentation dinner. Stuart Watkins, who played for Wales and the British Lions in the 1960s is also playing.
The cost is £180 for a team of four and this includes coffee and bacon roll when you arrive, 18 holes of golf and two-course meal.
If you only want to attend the presentation dinner and listen to Tom the cost is £200 for a table of ten.
The day will played stableford with a stroke allowance of ¾ handicap to a maximum of 18 (Best two scores on each hole to count). There will be team prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and nearest the pin and the longest drive.

The eight charities are Torfaen Tenovus Mobile Cancer Support Unit, Torfaen & District Multiple Sclerosis Society, British Heart Foundation Cymru, St Anne’s Hospice, WREX (Welsh Former International Players Association), Ty-Hafan The family hospice for young lives, The Princes Trust Cymru and St David’s Hospice Care.
