As part of its campaign to increase the recycling rates in Torfaen, to avoid changes to bin collections, the council is reminding residents that their bins must be by the kerbside by 7am on collection day.
Councillor Mandy Owen, Torfaen’s Executive Member for the Environment, said: “From next Monday, residents may notice our recycling crews will be arriving earlier than usual to empty black boxes. Putting black boxes out by 7am will support crews working revised rounds and will help avoid missed collections.
“We’ve listened to feedback from both residents and crews so the black box collection rounds have been altered to make them more efficient for the crews, which will in turn improve resident satisfaction. The tweaks to rounds will give the crews more time to return containers to where they came from and to complete all assisted collections. By recycling as much as possible, as often as possible, we can all help Raise the Rate.”
