A public exhibition is being held for developers to share a proposal for a new bridge to be built across the canal in Cwmbran.
Asbris Planning is holding an event for residents to see their proposal for how traffic would cross the canal in Pontnewydd to new homes Taylor Wimpey will build as part of their Edlogan Wharf development.
A letter from Asbris Planning says: “The outline planning permission for the residential development (Edlogan Wharf, South Sebastopol) which was granted by Torfaen County Borough Council in May 2015 requires Taylor Wimpey to deliver a second vehicular canal crossing, located towards the south of the site at the northern end of Five Locks Close.”
A Taylor Wimpey spokesperson said: “The purpose of the event is to help us gain an understanding of people’s views on the new planning application for the construction of the final bridge over the canal at our Edlogan Wharf development. We remain fully committed to engaging positively with the local community and this event will help to inform our proposals before we present our plans to Torfaen County Borough Council.”
Visitors to the exhibition can see information about the new planning application and ask questions and give comments.
When and where is the exhibition?
It’s in Mount Pleasant Community Hall, Mount Pleasant Road, Pontnewydd, NP44 1AN, on Thursday 23 March between 2pm-7pm.
