I went to the free Cardiff Blogs meeting tonight in Jolyon’s Hotel on Cathedral Road in Cardiff.
This blog is all about Cwmbran so it was great that the first person that Sarah Mia (Twitter @miametro), who met me on arrival, introduced me to was her fiancé Tzevai Chong (Twitter @digitalshades). He is from Cwmbran and has set up the sports blog dodgykneesanddirtyballs.com (Twitter @dodgykneesblog )
After the meeting I asked Tzevai to record an audioboo about coming from Cwmbran and how he ended up being involved in Cardiff Blogs. You can listen by clicking here. I lost track of time while we were chatting and got caught out by a few seconds at the five minute audioboo limit.
After we were cut off Tzevai said that you don’t have to be a blogger or from Cardiff to come along to Cardiff Blogs events. He said anyone with an interest in social media and the web is welcome. The wide range of people who attend includes journalists, students, public relations officers and of course, bloggers.
They aim to meet every six to eight weeks. The meetings always features guest speakers and a ‘blogging surgery’ where you can get advice and tips from other bloggers. The meetings usually end with a friendly drink in the bar.
To find out the date, time and venue of the next Cardiff Blogs meeting keep an eye on on the website or follow them on twitter @cdfblogs
If you don’t have a blog you can get involved by guest writing . Read this post on Cardiff Blogs for guest writing opportunities on a variety of blogs.
Warwick Emanuel PR sponsored tonight’s event which included a free drink on arrival.
