The owner of a Cwmbran estate agent coming up to its first year in business says she’s “enjoyed every minute” of what she’s doing.
Donna Stonelake started Donna Stonelake Estate Agents in August 2023.
She said: “After working in estate agency for 30 years and seeing how poor customer service was carried out by corporate agencies, all that mattered was market share and what was best for the business, I wanted to set up my own business to prove that there is a better way and I can make a difference.
“I’ve always wanted to run my own business and deliver the right service for my customers.
“However there was never the right time and I was always nervous of taking the leap.
“In August 2023, I was made redundant and realising that the two options I had were head back to the corporate world or take that leap I was always scared to make, I decided to take that step and start Donna Stonelake Estate Agents.
“The journey so far has been amazing I’ve enjoyed every minute of what I’m doing.
“I’m able to fulfill my dreams of being able to offer the service that I believe in, and what every client deserves from start to finish.

“This is achievable with not having a big target hanging over my head and the corporate board telling me what I have to do and spend less time talking and helping clients.
“Most of my clients have come from recommendations and my customer base has now grown to the size that I have to take on admin staff to help me deliver the exceptional customer service I promise.
“Finding the right home can be quite challenging, with the amount of properties currently available on the market. Part of my goal is to make sure that I am matching applicants to the correct properties by looking for homes that are currently off-market.
“I will also help with ensuring the affordability of the dream home is matched to my clients’ expectations.
“When it comes to selling a client’s home I am available 12 hours a day, seven days a week to support and help them through the sometimes stressful journey of selling their home with honest advice, support or just a friendly chat.”
