A Torfaen pub raised nearly £4,000 for Velindre Cancer Centre from a family fun day that saw four people have their heads shaved and some others have their chests waxed and eyebrows removed.
Lou Parfitt runs the Teazer pub in New Inn with her husband, Gavin.
She told Cwmbran Life: “People are still slowly donating. It’s been our most successful event so far and plan to redo it next year for another charity.
“We also took over the Lower New Inn a week before our wedding (in June), which we had at the Teazer.
“It’s currently having a full facelift and new paint job. We have a new chef and are open serving food Wednesday to Saturday from 2pm and from 12 noon for Sunday lunches.”
She’s also looking to hold a day once-a-month where children with autism can have a meal with their families in a “a very calm, quiet environment, specifically booked out to their needs”.
