They did laps along the path to Cwmbran Boating Lake and back to the start.

Mike Williams and Marcus Hall are the team’s coaches.

Mike said: “We targeted 100km of cycling between the team made up of 5km laps starting at the Olive Tree and going down the river, around the boating lake and back.

“We held a raffle on the day and did a bucket collection. All in all, we have raised £920 so far. We think we have a sponsor lined up for the kit this year so the money will go towards training kit, Dry Robes etc.

“We actually managed to complete 120km combined. with two of the boys competing their share the week before as they were on holidays (Leo and Ellis).”

He joked: “They all did very well with lots of the parents and siblings also riding along and some of them even wanted to do more laps, but the adults were done and needed a cold pint.”

You can sponsor the team through their JustGiving page.
