Cwmbran teenager Morgan Mates is a karate world champion.
She competed in the IFK World Kata Competition in Crawley earlier this month.
The Cwmbran Kyokushinkai Karate member represented Great Britain under 18s in a team of three in Kata, a form of karate, and they came first.
She also competed as an individual and finished fourth.
The competition happens every four years. Morgan has featured a few times on Cwmbran Life over the years talking about the Mic Morris Memorial Trust– the Torfaen charity that has helped her with grants towards her training, kit and travel costs.
