The choir at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrȃn came third in a national competition run by S4C.
They entered Carol yr Ŵyl, the annual choir competition that attracts entries from schools from across Wales. Their performance of ‘Y Seren’ was shown on TV on Friday 20 December. They announced the results and found out they came third.
Wayne Beecham, from Cerdd Torfaen Music, wrote the music to the lyrics by deputy headteacher Catrin Passmore and harmony by year two teacher Elen Roberts.
Wayne told Cwmbran Life: “We were absolutely delighted to have been placed in the top three. We are immensely proud of all our children at Ysgol Gymraeg Cwmbrȃn.”
