Former servicemen and women helped to raise £425 for the Owl Sanctuary in Ebbw Vale.

The attraction was targeted by vandals recently.

Councillor Gaynor James, the armed forces champion for Torfaen, dropped the money off to the sanctuary last month. The groups who donated money included:

  • Cwmbran and District Ex-Services Association
  • Royal Naval Association Torfaen
  • Royal Engineers Newport and Cwmbran branch
  • Torfaen Veterans Hub
  • Pontypool’s Royal British Legion
  • Comrades of the Great War Pontypool branch.
