Members of the public are invited to attend a VE Day civic service in Cwmbran to mark the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II in Europe.
It starts at 11am on Thursday 8 May at St Gabriel’s Church in Old Cwmbran.
The service will provide an opportunity for the community to reflect with pride and respect at the remarkable generation of men and women who helped secure our peace and freedom.
The council are appealing for residents to share their own photos of VE Day parties, family members who served in the war effort at home and abroad or photos of the borough during WWII. The images will be used in a short film and played on VE Day.
