Two Cwmbran brothers were chosen to be among a group of 15 scouts from across Wales to take part in London’s Remembrance Sunday parade.
Elliot Hopkins, 17, and Finley Hopkins, 15, are members of the FreeSpirit Explorer Scout Unit in Coed Eva, and also volunteer at the 1st Pontnewydd Scouts.
‘Unforgettable experience’
Kerry Hopkins, their mum, said: “They both applied and gave their thoughts on the importance of the annual Remembrance and were lucky enough to be both selected to represent Welsh Scouting. We’re all extremely proud of them
“It was an unforgettable experience. The amount of service men and women was such a spine-tingling moment.
“They haven’t missed a Pontnewydd parade in eight years (apart from covid restrictions) and to march with other scouts from Wales will be a moment I am sure they won’t forget in a hurry.”
