Llanyrafon FC is looking to start a new disability football team for players aged under 12- boys and girls from year four to year seven.
Club coach Marcus Hall started the first disability team last year, and it’s grown to three teams; two senior teams and an under-16 team.
He also coaches Llanyrafon FC’s under-tens.
Marcus told Cwmbran Life: “It has been an outstanding season so far for the three disability teams.
“My two senior teams are both top of the league, and the newly formed under-16s are starting to really gel with six wins and two draws from 14 games.
‘Friendships’
“We had our first presentation night back in August, which was a great evening for all involved, including my under tens. The friendships and bonds that have been created since forming Llany disability has been out of this world.
“I am now looking at setting up an under-12s disability team to join our ever-growing club. They will be involved in everything we do as a club, including presentation night, a Christmas party and fundraising events, and to top it off, a tour every year.
‘Training’
“I am looking for players interested in joining the team and once I have enough interest, I will set a day and time for training, then get them set up in the South Wales Pan-Disability League where we play tournaments once a month.
“I have a great bunch of helpers and coaches on board who also spend a lot of time and effort towards making sure that everyone enjoys it and feels a part of something. My under-ten coaches, parents and players have been outstanding with them. It’s like a proper football family.”
