Residents in Cwmbran will have the chance to bring along their antiques and collectables for assessment later this month when the T. Baker & Co. Roadshow visits the town.

The event will take place at The White Hut Community Hall on Tuesday 31 March, from 10am to 3pm.

Specialists will be offering free valuations on a wide range of items, with no fees or obligation to sell. Among the categories they do value and buy are:

  • Jewellery (including precious metals, rolled gold and costume jewellery)
  • Old coins and currency
  • Silver and silver plate
  • Fountain pens and pencils
  • Cameras
  • Vintage toys
  • Smoking paraphernalia
  • Medals, militaria and Masonic items
  • Premium collectables
  • Watches

However, the company notes that there are some items they do not specialise in. These include:

  • Art
  • Alcohol collectables
  • Books
  • Breakables (such as china, porcelain, tea sets and glassware)
  • Cigarette cards
  • Clothing
  • Furniture
  • Stamps
  • Sporting memorabilia
  • Vinyl records
