Cwmbran RFC’s Robert Parry has been nominated for the Dragons RFC Community Volunteer of the Year Award, recognising a decade of dedication to the club and its youngest players.
Rob has been volunteering at the club since 2016 and is a huge part of the U7s team and Tiny Crows sessions. As well as coaching, he helps organise fixtures, supports the running of the club behind the scenes and is a proud Cwmbran RFC Centurion member.
His fellow coaches say Rob gives up countless hours every week to help children grow in confidence, learn teamwork and make friends through rugby. They describe him as a “fantastic role model”.
A spokesperson for the club said: “Everyone at Cwmbran RFC U7s is incredibly proud of you, Rob. This nomination is thoroughly deserved. Wishing you the very best of luck for this evening.”
Mike Sage, Head of Community at Dragons RFC, said in a press release to launch the awards: “It will be a special evening as we recognise and celebrate key individuals and organisations who interact with our Family of Provisions every year alongside the outstanding work going on in our wider community across the region.”
The Community Volunteer of the Year Award is sponsored by Vishay. This award recognises the outstanding contribution of a volunteer who has transformed lives through grassroots efforts at a club or organisation in Gwent.
