Cwmbran Celtic Ladies FC won the Hugh James SWFA Women’s Cup last Sunday with a 2-0 victory over Cardiff Met WFC.

Cardiff Met had recently secured promotion from the Genero Adran South to the Genero Adran Premier, meaning Celtic stopped them completing a league‑and‑cup double.

Chelsea Cochrane gave Celtic the lead in the 74th minute. Macey Morris blocked a Cardiff Met clearance, Summer Bowen‑Quirk won the ball back and played it to Eloise Meaney, who sent a long pass forward for Cochrane to finish.

The second goal came in the 85th minute. Cerys Pinchard delivered a corner to the far post, where Ella Meaney rose up to head it home and seal the win.

A special mention goes to Jodie Challenger, centre midfield. She ran the AJ Bell Great Bristol Half Marathon in the morning before playing in the 6pm kick off final at Pen y bont FC in Bridgend.
