Carro Lounge in Cwmbran

A group in Cwmbran is helping stroke survivors find their voices again – one friendly cuppa at a time.

Say Aphasia Cwmbran meets every month at Carro Lounge in Gwent Square, offering a relaxed, welcoming space for anyone living with aphasia, a communication disability that often follows a stroke or brain injury. For many people, it means knowing exactly what they want to say, but being unable to get the words out – something that can feel incredibly isolating.

The group is run by Peer Leaders Ray and Laura, with support from Cassie, and the focus is simple: no pressure, just support, conversation and company. It’s not a medical session – it’s a social morning open to survivors, carers and family members.

When and where

  • The first Tuesday of every month
  • 10.30am-12pm
  • Carro Lounge, Gwent Square

For those who can’t make it in person, Say Aphasia also runs a regular online session so people can join from home- link to more info in the comments.
