A Torfaen Dolphins swimmer who won four medals at last week’s European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships is heading to Glasgow to represent Wales at the Commonwealth Games.

Theodora Taylor, 17, competed in Munich and came home with two golds, one silver and one bronze. She broke two European records- the 50m freestyle and the 4 x 100m freestyle relay..

Coach Tom Croke said her “good form” is the perfect preparation for the Commonwealth Games. Two other Torfaen Dolphins have been picked for Team Wales, and Tom said their final training is going well.

Meghan Willis, 18, went on a training camp in Majorca in June, with Tom adding: “She’s got stronger and stronger so she should be good and ready to go.”

Swansea University student Dylan Broom is training daily at the Swim Wales National High Performance Centre in the city.
