This is the brother and sister who popped into Cwmbran fire station last week to drop off some snacks and drinks for the firefighters.
A post on the Cwmbran Life Facebook page went viral with over 3,000 likes and 130 shares.
Charlotte, 13, and Alex, 8, smelt smoke in the morning and decided to do something.
Charlotte said: “We seen that the wildfires were getting worse and we wanted to help the firefighters by doing something small. We put our money together to get water, crisps and snacks for them. We just wanted to help.
“When we spoke to the fireman, he said that we brought a tear to his eye, and we just wanted to say thank you for all their hard work.”
Vicki Parry, their mum, said: “When we woke up, the house was smelling of smoke and they were asking questions about it. We looked on Facebook and seen all the posts. And then Alex said. ‘I’ve got pocket money, what can we do?’ And Charlie was like, ‘let’s put a plan together.’ They’ve made me so proud, both of them.”
The trio went to Asda after Alex got home from Torfaen Playscheme. They then went to the fire station on Henllys Way and spoke to an officer on duty who accepted their kind gifts.
The duty watch was out in north Torfaen fighting the wildfires.
