A lucky animal lover will be taking her pets for drives as well as walks, after winning a new car from a ticket bought in the Cwmbran Pets At Home shop.

Sarah Swainston won a new SEAT Ibiza Sport Coupe in a nationwide raffle in aid of abandoned animals run by Support Adoption For Pets and supported by Pets at Home.

Cwmbran store raises almost £1,000 for its charity

Sarah’s winning raffle ticket helped the Cwmbran shop raise just under £1,000 for its charity partner- Society for the Welfare of Horses and Ponies.

Sarah said; “I would like to say thank you to Support Adoption For Pets for both my prize and the work that they do. Having two rescue pets myself, a Staffordshire Terrier called Pepper and a cat named Paddy, I love animals and know how important it is to support local animal centres. I am really pleased to hear that the Cwmbran Pets at Home stored raised £961.56 for a deserving local charity.”

Volunteer your time, money or tins of pet food

Amy Wilson, charity manager at Support Adoption For Pets, said: “We’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who supported the Summer Fundraising Drive and helped us to raise such a phenomenal amount for animal rescues across the UK. We hope Sarah enjoys her new car and would encourage others to help us to raise awareness of the plight of pets in their local community by donating what ever they can – whether time, money or a tin of food – to local rescues.”
