David Power, secretary of the Welsh Charitables, said: “Rugby fans who come along to our dinner will hear John talk about his experiences of being part of a period of time when the Welsh rugby union team lost many of its top players due to the big money being offered in league. It will be a wonderful insight into the pressures of that time of being a top player and the tempting cash offers being on the table.”
