Get to Cwmbran Library tomorrow (Saturday 6 July) for the People’s Library – where the books are people.
You can just turn up – no need to book a slot – and borrow one of the “books” and enjoy a one-to-one conversation with someone about their subject in order to challenge stereotypes and encourage understanding among people from different walks of life.
The “human books” include Hazel who will be talking about body dysmorphia, Jolene who is talking about living with autism/ADHD, Linette who is talking about her experiences as a legacy of the Windrush generation and receiving an MBE for services to defence, and Richard who is talking about how he copes with blindness.
There are about 10 “books”, all with inspiring stories.
The event kicks off at 9.30am and runs until 12.30pm.
