A new children’s play area will open this week at the Castell y Bwch pub in Henllys.
The large wooden ‘treehouse’ style frame with a walkway and slides will be unveiled on Friday 28 April. The garden and new kitchen will be open offering a range of beers, burgers, hot dogs, pizzas, ice creams and slushies, all just in time for the summer.
Four months since the pub reopened following a full refurbishment by Gary and Karen Bulmer, the pair have shared some news about events for customers over the next month. As these photos show, work is close to being completed on a new children’s play area.
Gary said: “We can’t wait to see children enjoying the new play park while parents relax nearby. The entrance and exit is through the same gate and we’ve added a small seating area. The Castell y Bwch is proud to be a family-friendly pub. This new feature will give children a fun place to play in the fresh air while parents can relax and keep an eye on them nearby.”
Sunday 7 May- Coronation family fun-day

Gary said: “It’s going to be a cracking bank holiday Sunday. No One Knows don’t need an introduction in this area. They will be on from around 6.30pm but as anyone knows when this band are performing you need to get in early to secure a seat. We have put up a marquee in the garden where they will be performing.
