BranFest is back with a difference this year as Cwmbran High School turns into a summer festival on Thursday 16 July to mark the end of the summer term.

What started as a simple alternative for pupils to avoid long coach trips and theme‑park queues is now opening its doors to the community after the daytime event.

The PTFA has spent months pulling together a day packed with activities for pupils – and an evening that throws the gates open to families, neighbours and the wider community.

During the school day, pupils will enjoy a festival‑style takeover of the grounds with everything from inflatable obstacle courses and funfair rides to selfie stations, puzzles, animal cuddles, rugby sessions, and even emergency services demonstrations. There’s face painting and chances to soak teachers in the stocks.

Once the school day ends, BranFest opens it’s door again. From 4pm to 8pm, the site becomes a community summer festival with stalls, food, drink and live performances.

The PTFA has lined up:

  • A1 Jump and Bounce inflatables
  • Abi Danter’s fairground rides
  • Ice cream vans and dessert stalls
  • Pizza Hogs Wild Grill
  • Ginfizzers
  • Party Flossers
  • The school’s own Tuck Shop

Visitors can enjoy:

  • Dancing with Maria (5pm to 6pm)
  • Vibes Dance Group (6pm to 6.30pm)
  • Jules Deacon in Drag (7pm to 7.30pm)

Entry is £1 for adults (including a raffle ticket) and free for under‑16s.
