Officers in Torfaen Council’s licensing team investigated a complaint that pigs on a farm were living in unsuitable conditions.
The complainant said that the pigs’ enclosure was waterlogged and they didn’t have a dry area where they could lie down. It also said there was a lack of shelter for the pigs. Officers from the team visited the farm and the issues have now been sorted out.
From April 2023 to the end of June 2023 the licensing team also followed up a complaint that a dog was persistently barking. They found there were no problems with the welfare of the dog, and information was shared with the council’s environmental health team to investigate the noise.
