Good luck boys! Cwmbran High School’s year nine boys’ team are playing in the final of the Welsh Cup tomorrow.
They entered the Welsh Schools FA tournament last September and have beaten every team they’ve been drawn against.
Dan Povey, the school’s head of PE, said: “They’re super excited, that’s the best way to sum it up, bouncing and ready to go.
“They’ve done amazing to get there and it’ll be nice to finish the season off with a win.”
He thanked Aramark, the school’s canteen supplier, who kitted the boys out with new tops to travel to the match in.
Mr Povey added: “There are lots of staff going. It’s being really well supported by the school.”
Last year, the team were knocked out just before the national stages and this has spurred them on this season with Mr Povey saying: “They’ve gone from strength to strength and grown as a team.”
The final is at Park Hall, the home of The New Saints FC in Oswestry. Kick off 10.15am. They’re playing Flint High School.
