Cwmbran Parkrun is gearing up for a major milestone this weekend as it celebrates its 400th event.
The organisers are hoping to mark the occasion with a record-breaking turnout of over 400 participants.
The free weekly 5km jog, walk, or run starts at 9am from Cwmbran Boating Lake. This week’s special anniversary has seen the volunteers who run the event set a special target.
A social media post from Cwmbran Parkrun said: “The milestone we’ve been counting down to is finally here—this Saturday is our 400th event.
“To celebrate this incredible achievement, we have one big, exciting goal: to smash through the 400-participant barrier and make our 400th the biggest and best yet!
“But we can’t do it without YOU. Our record-breaking success depends on every single one of you. Here’s how you can help:
“BRING THE CROWD! Invite everyone you know! Friends, family, neighbours, your postie, your milkman, let’s fill the event with a huge, celebratory atmosphere. Whether they run, walk, hop, or skip, everyone is welcome to join the party!
“VOLUNTEER TO MAKE IT HAPPEN! To safely host a record-breaking crowd, we need a full roster of superstar volunteers. If you can help out, please email us at [email protected] —you’ll get the best seat in the house for all the action!
“SHARE, SHARE, SHARE! Spread the word far and wide across your social networks and community groups. Let’s make sure everyone knows about our historic 400th!
“Let’s come together to create an unforgettable morning and hit 400 @ 400!
“Can’t wait to see you all there on Saturday for a truly special event.”
