An appeal by staff at Llandegfedd Lake for tennis balls to help with a wildlife project has led to a large donation from Cwmbran Tennis Club.

The team have been using balls to create small houses to protect mice from bad weather and predators. Last week they put out an appeal for old and unused balls.

A spokesperson for Cwmbran Tennis Club said: “We are pleased to announce the Club has donated 200 old and disused tennis balls to the rangers at Welsh Water in support of a biodiversity project based at Llandefedd Reservoir.

“The balls will be used to create nesting houses for small harvest mice and provide ideal protection from bad weather and predators.”
