Cwmbran Town FC has had a planning application for a 100-seat spectator stand approved by Torfaen Council.
Officials at the club are pleased as the upgrade will be needed to reach the FAW standards if they win promotion from the Gwent Premer League into the Ardal Leagues.
The Crows lead their league on 64 points with three games in hand over their nearest rivals, Lliswerry on 61 points.

Dan O’Connell, the club’s president, told Cwmbran Life: “We are grateful to Torfaen Council for granting our planning application for a new stand at our iconic home, Cwmbran Stadium.
“Situated opposite the current grandstand, the new stand will ensure that we meet the conditions of the FAW Tier 3 Licensing requirements, mandatory if we are to achieve promotion to the Ardal Leagues.
“After a punitive 15 years, we are on course for promotion. Our fantastic players, led by our manager Dale Clark, have taken us on a record-breaking undefeated run of 22 league games this season.
“We are about to achieve the first step of our collective aim of returning back to the summit of Welsh domestic football, and therefore European competition. The new stand is another great milestone on our journey back to the top.”
The stand will be 13.58m wide, 2.75m high and 2.85m deep and located by the conifer trees on the eastern side of the stadium. The club plans to launch a Crowdfunder and offer sponsorship opportunities to help fund the work.
