A Cwmbran woman who was treated for bowel cancer last year opened a Christmas Grotto in her home to raise for charity.
Mandy Roberts lives in the former Henllys Village Hall with her husband Colin. Her home has been transformed with 1000s of lights and decorations leading around their garden.
The Grotto closed on Christmas Eve for Father Christmas to deliver presents worldwide.
People are still welcome to park on their drive to look at their decorations and donate to the charity, Bowel Cancer UK.
She said: “People need to be aware, they really do. I was ill in the summer last year and went to the doctors and they didn’t seem to do anything. I hit 60 and this test came through the post. I did it, we came back off holiday and they said they wanted me in.
“We went up to the hospital and I had to have a camera. They took us in a room and said ‘you’ve got cancer’. He [husband Colin] broke down. I just walked off. I tell everybody now, just do the test for goodness sake. It’s well worth it.”
Colin said: “It’s lovely for the kids. You want to see their faces.”
