A Cwmbran painter and decorator is celebrating after picking up a national award for the second year running.

Gareth Bodman set up GB Painting and Decorating Services as a sole trader in 2021. In 2021/22 and 2022/23 he won the Painting & Decorating Service of the Year in the Wales Prestige Awards.

He said: “It felt absolutely brilliant to be nominated by customers and to win the award I have worked so hard to achieve. I’m trying to gain as much awareness as possible for my company and to keep on growing.

“As all this has happened in two years. What will the next ten bring?”

His business carries out work for domestic and commercial customers.

He added: “In 12 months we have gone from sole trader, so working on my own, to having five fully insured contractors on board so we are growing rapidly. I’m now aiming at councils and businesses and local authorities to become their main contractor for painting and decorating.”
