Two Cwmbran entrepreneurs who got £80,000 investment from BBC1’s Dragons Den panel are giving a talk at the next Torfaen Women in Business event.
Kelli Aspland and Laura Waters will be joined by Gaynor Coley, the former managing director of the Eden Project in Cornwall. Ms Coley is also originally from Cwmbran. Guests can ask the trio questions about their business journey.
pitched their Solar Buddies business on the TV programme and now work with Debra Meaden and Peter Jones. The two Dragons each paid £40,000 for a ten per cent share. In 2011 Kelli and Laura saw their children had trouble putting on sunscreen in hot weather and teachers were not allowed to apply it on them. This led to the launch of Solar Buddies, a sunscreen applicator that makes it easy for children (and parents) to put it on without making a mess.
They are the guest speakers at the next Torfaen Women in Business Event event in November where It’s on Wednesday 22 November at The Parkway Hotel & Spa. Registration is from 4.30pm and it will start at 5.30pm.
