Dragons’ Den star Peter Jones met with two Cwmbran entrepreneurs to discuss his £40,000 investment with them.
Kelli Aspland and Laura Waters successfully pitched their business on the BBC1 programme in 2023 and sold a ten per cent share to both Deborah Meaden and Peter.
The pair invested £40,000 each in Solar Buddies, a product that makes it easy for children to apply sunscreen themselves.
The BBC1 series started in 2005 and Peter is the only original Dragon to remain on the panel.
Laura told Cwmbran Life: “It was amazing to visit his HQ. It didn’t feel at daunting as all of the staff we met were so welcoming and complimentary. It was a definite pinch-me moment.
“We spoke at depth about our growth and how Peter and Deborah can help moving forward and was there anything in the immediate future we needed. Obviously, we asked for talks to start with Disney as this is our most asked question!
“We felt so lucky to be part of his business portfolio and the things he said to us were so humbling.
“He was so complimentary about us as entrepreneurs and told us we should celebrate our successes more often. We should be extremely proud of what we have achieved. He even told Touker [Suleyman] how wrong he was about our business which was the icing on the cake for us.”
“We can’t wait for our next visit.”
Last November, Laura and Kelli took their other Dragon, Deborah Meaden, on a tour of their unit in Cwmbran.
