A boxing day fancy dress run in Cwmbran raised over £1,300 for the charity Breast Cancer Now.
Lena Evans (top right pic in this collage), a member of Griffithstown Harriers, was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer in March 2018. Between 2018 and 2022 she had chemotherapy, radiotherapy, mastectomy, and reconstruction surgery.
Each year, the Cwmbran-based running club raises money for a charity that has a special meaning for one of its members. Lena chose Breast Cancer Now following the support she and her family received.
Around 150 runners paid an entry fee and bought raffle tickets. Her JustGiving page total is over £1,400 after some direct donations.
Lena said: “I’m blown away by everyone’s generosity.”
