Free half-term fun for children and parents in Cwmbran

A series of fun and free events are taking place in Cwmbran to encourage children and parents to have fun with maths.

The events are being held on Thursday 1 June at the Power Station in St Dials and Croesyceiliog Community Education Centre. The sessions are aimed at parents and children who want to have fun and improve their confidence with numbers at the same time.

Power Station in St Dials

Small groups will do activities using Lego involving ‘buying, building and racing’ toy cars with the team from Techniquest, the science centre in Cardiff Bay. There are two sessions available:

  • Session 1 (MMP001) – 10.30am to 12pm
  • Session2 (MMP002) – 1pm to 2.30pm

Croesyceiliog Community Education Centre

The following sessions will run throughout the day on Thursday 1 June and are for one parent per child.

  • (MMC001) Pottery and number play (3 to 4-year-olds)- 10am to 12pm
  • (MMC002) Pottery and percentages (8 to 12-year-olds)- 1pm to 3pm
  • (MMC003) Shapes and sandwiches (3 to 4-year-olds)- 10am to 11am
  • (MMC004) Cookies and counting (5 to 7-year-olds)- 11.30am to 1pm
  • (MMC005) Pizza and percentages (8 to 12-year-olds)-1.30pm to 3.30pm
