Cwmbran residents heading to the Cwmbran Big Event on Saturday 13 June are being encouraged to take advantage of a new free Park & Ride service, designed to make travelling to the Boating Lake easier, quicker and less stressful.
Running from 12pm to 5.30pm, the shuttle will operate continuously from the town centre and the Boating Lake, giving visitors a simple way to get to the fun day without worrying about parking.
Visitors can park in any M Cwmbran Shopping Centre car park, then head to the ASDA car park bus stop, where the free shuttle bus will pick them up and take them directly to the event site.
Two 30‑seater buses, booked through Murrays Mini Bus Hire, will run back and forth all afternoon.
A spokesperson for Cwmbran Community Council said: “We’re delighted to be able to offer a free Park & Ride service for The Big Event this year. These buses will run continuously throughout the day, transporting people from town to the bus stop just outside the Boating Lake and back again.
“We hope this will help ease traffic for residents living nearby, as well as make parking much more convenient for those attending. Cwmbran Big Event always brings the community together, and we hope this added service will make the day even more enjoyable for everyone.”
The Council also thanked M Cwmbran, the owners of the town centre, for allowing the use of their car parks to support the service.
