The Salvation Army started their Good Friday celebrations today with a short concert in the John Fielding pub in Cwmbran.
Around 20 members arrived at around 9am and enjoyed breakfast in a reserved area of the bar. At 10am they started to sing There Is A Green Hill Far Away.
This was followed by several hymns including When I Survey the Wondrous Cross and On a Hill Far Away (The Old Rugged Cross).
Jane Horne, from the Salvation Army’s church on Wesley Street, closed the service by inviting pub-goers to join in with the Lords’ Prayer. She then invited anyone to attend the church on Easter Sunday for either its 11am or 6pm service.
