A community garden next to the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran is encouraging visitors to come along to an open day in June.

The renovated and redesigned former derelict Victorian garden was transformed by the Friends of Llanfrechfa Grange Walled Garden, the charity that manages the garden. The garden opened officially to the public in April 2022.

The ‘Have a Grow Day’ is on Saturday 3 June 2023 from 10am to 4pm. Entry is free but please bring cash to buy refreshments and items for sale.

Angela Fry, general secretary of the group, said: “The Friends of Llanfrechfa Grange Walled Garden are joining the UK-wide ‘Have a Grow’ day on Sat 3rd June. This is an annual event celebrating all sorts of community growing and is run by Social Farms and Gardens, this year in association with Eden Project Communities.

“Visitors are welcome to come along and enjoy the garden and we will have lots of things going on for all the family including a propagation station, plant sale, kids fun activities, craft, produce and book stalls and of course refreshments with home made cakes.”
