These pics show the progress on the new £17.1m Maendy Primary School being built in Northville- next to the current school.
They were taken on Monday 17 March 2025.

An open evening is being held next month for past pupils, families and members of the community.
The school, which originally opened in the late 1950s, is due to close this year with the new school due to open in June.
The new building, which will include a primary school with a nursery, Flying Start and childcare facilities, Additional Learning Needs resource base and an assessment centre, has been funded by Torfaen Council and the Welsh Government’s Sustainable Communities for Learning programme.

A second playground, grass sports pitch, and a community building will be created on the old site next year.
The open evening will be held on Wednesday 9 April from 3.30pm to 5pm. Guests will be shown around the school by staff and pupils, including the head boy and head girl.
‘Cherished memories’
Headteacher Emma Payne said: “As we approach the final days of Maendy Primary School as it stands today, we want to celebrate the rich history and cherished memories created within these walls.
“To mark this milestone, we are excited to invite everyone to a special open evening where people can take one last stroll through the corridors, hallways, and classrooms before we move into the new building.
“This will be an opportunity to reflect on the past and share fond memories with staff, pupils, and the wider community, both past and present.
“Additionally, we’re inviting people to contribute to a Maendy Memories Display. We welcome photos, memorabilia, or any items that capture the spirit of Maendy over the years, whether from their time as a pupil, your child’s experiences, or community events.”
Cllr Richard Clark, executive member for children, families and education, said: “I am looking forward to attending the open evening and meeting people’s whose education was shaped by Maendy Primary School while looking forward to the opportunities the new facility will offer pupils.”
