A motorbiker rider has told how he ended up several metres in the air after being hit by a car that failed to stop.
Luke Harris, 21, was travelling home to Pontypool along Mountain Road in Upper Cwmbran on Friday 5 April at around 6.55pm.
He said: “I had turned into the road [from the Cwmbran side] and past the first farmhouse on the right.”
A car appeared heading downhill towards him in the single track lane.
“There was plenty of time for the vehicle to stop. I tried getting out of the way. I had both my feet on the floor when it hit me.
“It didn’t slow down. When I realised it wasn’t going to stop, I just closed my eyes.”
Luke said he was thrown several metres into the air and landed down a bank by a brook.
“By the time I stood up, I realised it had gone. It made one hell of a noise. A group of boys heard it and came running up the road.”
