A Cwmbran mum has given a “massive thank you” to a local pub for stepping in at the last minute to host her son’s third birthday party.

Lisa Munday had paid a few hundred quid to hire entertainment, including bumper cars and the Gruffalo. But 70 minutes before Blake’s party was due to start last Saturday, she suddenly found out the venue due to hold the party had a double-booking.

She told Cwmbran Life that the Dorallt saved the day.

In a manic hour, the entertainers Every Cloud and The Event Collective hit the phones to find somewhere that would have the space for the fun and games they had planned.

Lisa said: “Paul (from the Dorallt) and his partner absolutely saved the day, and I couldn’t be more grateful. My little boy was so happy. If it wasn’t for the help of the people that were setting up for my son’s party and for Paul and his partner from the Dorallt, Blake wouldn’t have had his party and we would have lost a lot of money.

“They [Every Cloud and The Event Collective] all were amazing phoning around and making sure my son wasn’t let down.

“They [the Dorallt] also had people waiting for their tables just before the party ended. So I’m thankful to the families that also had to wait a little bit.

“My faith was completely restored in humanity.”
