Photos from National Playday fun in Cwmbran town centre

These lovely photos show young people picking up their free packs to celebrate National Playday.

Torfaen Play staff took the photos in Cwmbran town centre on Wednesday 4 August 2021. Playday is the national day for play, traditionally held on the first Wednesday in August. It is a campaign that highlights the importance of play in children’s lives.

Over the summer the Torfaen Play team have been running 16 ‘Learn, Laugh, Get Active’ camps across schools in Torfaen.

Each day up to 1,500 children have been spending time at the camps. Two hundred children who need one-to-one support have also been taking part.

Last Wednesday staff from the team also handed packs at Bethlehem Chapel in Blaenavon and outside Pontypool Active Living Centre.
