A section of a Cwmbran road and part of a local shopping centre is closed off by police this morning.
The police have closed the section of Fairwater Way that runs past the bus station. The main car park for Fairwater Shops is open to give access to the doctors, vets and dentist which are all open. But inside the shopping centre officers have taped off an area stopping access to the dog salon, chip shop and Premier store. Shoppers can still walk into the centre from Ton Road to shops including the chemist, beauty salon, hardware store, laundrette, charity shop and hairdressers.
Cwmbran Life has contacted Gwent Police for more information. The police helicopter was heard in the area last night at around 10pm to 11pm.
